If you want to know how to find the area of a circle firstly you need to know the formula of area of a circle to find out its area which is very simple i.e. area of a circle = Pi*r2 where Pi is a constant and r represents the radius of a circle. The procedure is described below.
Apparatus:
- Ruler or anything that measures
- A calculator
Procedure:
- First you have to measure the radius of a circle using a scale. For this you have to point out its centre and measure the distance from centre to the periphery of the circle.
- If you know the value of Pi then good but for your information Pi=3.14 approximately. Then you have to use the calculator to put the values to the formula where you have to multiply the value of pi with the square value of r which is radius of the circle.
- Then pressing the digits into calculator you can easily get your exact radius of a circle.
Example 1
Let’s say that R=2.2 m
We know, Pi=3.14
Therefore, Area of a circle=Pi*R2
=3.14*(2.2m) 2
=15.19 m2
Example 2
Let’s say that R=4m
Pi=3.14
Therefore, Area of a circle=Pi*R2
=3.14*(4m) 2
=50.24 m2, here m is unit of length.
Now you might not have any confusion of how to find the area of a circle so proceed to your study and best of luck.
